Job Description

Morningstar Living, a respected senior living community, is currently seeking a part-time Cook to join our team in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. Job Requirements

  • Cooking experience for a minimum of two years preferably in batch cooking
  • Ability to work well on a team
  • Dependability
  • Visual acuity to read production sheets, menus, and follow provided recipes
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Vaccinated against Influenza or have qualified exemption
  • Ability to follow safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years cooking experience preferably in batch cooking
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Dependability and reliability
  • Visual acuity to read production sheets, menus, and recipes
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • Report to Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and Production Manager
  • Responsible for quality and quantity of food prepared and served
  • Use Culinary Production Records (CPR) and standardized recipes to produce menu items in correct portions and amounts
  • Assist other kitchens with food preparation when needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas
  • Follow proper HACCP procedures
  • Ensure safety standards and equipment maintenance
