Job Requirements

  • Experience in culinary roles involving production and delivery of culinary programs
  • Past roles requiring highest quality service
  • Experience serving seniors or vulnerable populations preferred
  • Previous work in healthcare, hospitality, or hotels
  • Volunteer work or internships with vulnerable groups
  • Skilled culinary techniques and creativity
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to promote a safe kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age
  • A combination of education and experience in the culinary arts
  • Current negative TB test
  • Knowledgeable in, or able to quickly learn, various regulatory standards for the kitchen
  • Willingness to learn how to work in a healthcare/assisted living environment
  • Ability to pass criminal record/background check
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with little oversight

Job Duties

  • Work alongside culinarians to implement the food and beverage program for residents
  • Prepare meals that engage all five senses and meet dietary needs
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and infection control
  • Use varied cooking techniques to create innovative and thoughtful dishes
  • Engage confidently and compassionately with seniors of all physical and cognitive ability levels
  • Adapt quickly to the preferences and needs of residents
  • Train and mentor other kitchen staff in culinary skills
