Job Requirements

  • One year experience as a cook in a large restaurant, hotel, or complex healthcare facility
  • Ability to prepare and coordinate food orders according to standardized recipes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of food and food products
  • Ability to plate and garnish cooked items with appropriate garnishes
  • Proven skills in quality food production including tray-line, cafeteria, grill and catering
  • Ability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and organize workstation
  • Knowledge of health department codes and sanitation policies
  • Superb customer service skills
  • Ability to work varied hours and locations
  • Ability to bend, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Employment subject to criminal background check and pre-employment physical

Job Qualifications

  • One year experience as a cook in a large restaurant, hotel, or healthcare facility
  • Knowledge of food and food products
  • Skill in quality food production including tray-line, cafeteria, grill or catering
  • Ability to perform food plating and garnishing
  • Knowledge of health department codes and sanitation policies
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Food Handler's Card or Certification preferred
  • Ability to scratch cook with meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and sauces preferred
  • Proficient knife skills and ability to work as part of a team preferred

Job Duties

  • Perform hot and cold food production according to established recipes and quality standards
  • Prepare menu items for cafeteria, tray-line, and special functions
  • Ensure food items meet appearance, taste, temperature, and portion control standards
  • Conduct meat fabrication, fish cutting, and sauce preparation
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation including equipment cleaning and sanitization
  • Assist in kitchen closing procedures and adhere to closing checklists
  • Participate in scheduled employee meetings and provide improvement suggestions
