Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • food handler permit or ServSafe certification
  • one or more years of relevant culinary experience preferred
  • ability to understand and execute recipes
  • ability to maintain sanitary conditions
  • effective communication skills
  • physical ability to lift, stand for long periods, and tolerate temperature extremes
  • ability to work flexible hours as required
  • customer service orientation

Job Qualifications

  • Food handler permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
  • one or more years of experience as a cook or chef preferred
  • ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • knowledge of safe food handling techniques
  • ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • preferred experience providing exceptional customer service
  • preferred ability to prepare food according to modified diets
  • preferred experience with commercial cooking equipment

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes and instructions
  • serve customers in various venues including retail, patient care, and catering
  • maintain an organized and sanitary working environment
  • prepare bulk food items and large-scale production meals
  • adhere to proper product rotation and quantity control
  • interact with customers and respond to their needs
  • operate cooking and cleaning equipment including manual and automatic ware-washing machines
