Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- food handler permit or ServSafe certification
- one or more years of relevant culinary experience preferred
- ability to understand and execute recipes
- ability to maintain sanitary conditions
- effective communication skills
- physical ability to lift, stand for long periods, and tolerate temperature extremes
- ability to work flexible hours as required
- customer service orientation
Job Qualifications
- Food handler permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
- one or more years of experience as a cook or chef preferred
- ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- knowledge of safe food handling techniques
- ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- preferred experience providing exceptional customer service
- preferred ability to prepare food according to modified diets
- preferred experience with commercial cooking equipment
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and instructions
- serve customers in various venues including retail, patient care, and catering
- maintain an organized and sanitary working environment
- prepare bulk food items and large-scale production meals
- adhere to proper product rotation and quantity control
- interact with customers and respond to their needs
- operate cooking and cleaning equipment including manual and automatic ware-washing machines
