Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
- Physical ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, or smell
- Ability to use vision for close, distance, color, and depth perception
- Willingness to work in wet, humid, and extreme temperature conditions
- Applicable sanitation training
- Ability to read and speak English as needed for job performance
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Effective speaking skills to communicate before groups of customers or associates
- Basic mathematical skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions
- Physical ability to frequently stand, walk, talk, hear, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, or smell
- Regular use of close, distance, color, and depth perception
- Applicable sanitation training
- Ability to read and speak English as required for communication with customers and coworkers
Job Duties
- Learn and maintain standards in food production and quality
- Expedite orders in a timely manner
- Practice excellent operational sanitation
- Execute scheduled banquet functions
- Maintain a professional relationship with fellow associates
- Help reduce loss or waste
- Communicate equipment repair needs with chef
- Actively participate in training efforts
- Incorporate safe work practices in job performance
- Attend staff meetings
- Check and date all deliveries received and report any variances to chef in charge
- Verify that all coolers are at the proper temperatures and are cleaned on a daily basis
- Inventory requisition and receive supplies as necessary for quality production
- Prepare the proper amount of food according to production or forecast sheets and production plans
- Prepare items in accordance with established recipes for a consistent product
