Job Requirements
- 1 year of food production experience in a professional kitchen setting
- ServSafe Food Handler Certificate or ability to obtain within the first 6 months of employment
- Ability to speak, read and understand verbal instructions in English
- Pass an initial criminal background check and every four years thereafter
- Must be eligible to work in the United States on or before the effective date of appointment
- Ability to work onsite at designated campus locations
- Availability to work five 8-hour shifts per week with possible weekend rotation and schedule changes during university breaks
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- Over 1 year of institution-scale food service production experience in a professional kitchen setting
- ServSafe Food Handler Certificate or ability to obtain within the first 6 months of employment
Job Duties
- Perform food production to include batch cooking, cook-to-flow, and made-to-order display cooking
- Perform duties in a high-volume, dynamic, student residential dining environment
- Interact with English speaking customers while displaying knowledge of food products, allergens and food safety
- Demonstrate and role model exceptional customer service
- Provide support and assist as needed in the implementation of plans and procedures in the event of an emergency
- Train and guide student workers
- Clean, inspect, and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas
