Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food handler permit or ServSafe certification by first day of work
  • one or more years of culinary experience preferably as line or prep cook
  • ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • capability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to work varying shifts including early mornings, late nights, and overnight
  • good communication skills
  • physical capability to use commercial kitchen equipment
  • willingness to work Sunday through Saturday as needed
  • ability to maintain a sanitary working environment
  • ability to interact with diverse customers
  • willingness to perform cash and credit transactions
  • ability to resolve customer service issues

Job Qualifications

  • Food handler permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
  • one or more years of experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred
  • previous experience with modified diets
  • demonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • safe food handling techniques
  • understanding of workflow, prioritization, and deadlines
  • exceptional customer service skills preferred
  • knowledge of commercial cooking equipment preferred
  • ability to prepare food according to modified diets preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepares and cooks food
  • serves customers
  • completes other duties as assigned supporting all stations within culinary department
  • follows recipes and/or instructions in food preparation
  • prepares bulk food items and large scale production
  • assembles specialty meals and catered items
  • delivers and presents trays to patients
  • performs accurate cash and credit transactions
  • resolves basic customer service issues
  • maintains organized and sanitary work environment
  • rotates product for proper quantities
  • interacts with customers across catering, retail, and patient care venues
  • operates ware-washing machines
  • stocks supplies
