Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous cooking experience preferred
  • knowledge of federal, state and corporate food safety standards
  • ability to follow standardized recipes and food preparation guidelines
  • capacity to maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning, ensuring food is at correct temperature, attractive and tasty and tastes all prepared items
  • uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains records from area worked
  • cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high cleanliness standards and stores or discards excess food according to safe food-handling procedures
  • keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat, ensuring food and supplies are stored per standards
  • operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
  • assists in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required
  • reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to supervisor immediately
  • attends in-service and safety meetings
  • maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
  • demonstrates personal commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company safety policies
