Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation practices
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Availability to work Sunday and Monday shifts with flexible scheduling on other days
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to provide excellent customer service

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous culinary or cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, and mixers
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Good physical stamina and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Basic math skills for measuring and weighing ingredients

Job Duties

  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and other equipment
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking quality, rotating stock, and following labeling and dating procedures
  • Monitor, cook and prepare foods by tasting, smelling, or using food thermometers to determine doneness
  • Prepare stations according to company guidelines
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
  • Season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables for consumption
  • Carve, trim, and prepare meats and seafood for service
  • May bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries
  • May wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, or other cooking equipment
  • Compile and maintain records of food usage
  • May assist with inventory
  • Follow food specification amounts and assist in forecasting preparation needs
  • Prepare and serve food to customers timely
  • Assist culinary staff at stations as directed
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding kitchen equipment and supply needs
  • Adhere to safety, food handling, sanitation, uniform guidelines, and productivity standards
  • Provide excellent customer service including being attentive and greeting customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
