Job Requirements

Current Food Handlers card or ability to obtain one
ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
capability to bend, reach, and stoop
prior cooking experience preferred but not required
ability to work in a team environment
effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

Current Food Handlers card or ability to obtain one
prior cooking experience in a skilled nursing environment preferred
knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygienic methods
competency in operating kitchen equipment
good interpersonal skills

Job Duties

Prepare pre-planned cycle menus in an efficient and effective manner
perform food preparation tasks as assigned
read production orders on tray cards
determine if food prepared meets quality standards
assist in planning cooking schedules
confirm foods are ready on time for tray service
maintain and improve standards of food storage, preparation, and services
assist in checking food supplies on food order forms
push carts to halls or kitchen
maintain cleanliness and orderliness
