Job Requirements

  • Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Minimum of 1 year of cooking experience
  • Experience in high volume and casual dining restaurant preferred
  • Knowledge of soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry cooking
  • Ability to comprehend instructions, correspondence and policies
  • Ability to converse with customers
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to frequently immerse hands in water mixed with cleaning solutions
  • Ability to work with sharp knives, utensils and hot plates
  • Ability to frequently work in hot environments

Job Qualifications

  • Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
  • Experience in high volume and casual dining restaurant environment preferred
  • Food knowledge pertaining to Soups, Sauté, Broiler, Fry, and Pantry
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
  • Ability to converse comfortably with customers

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items including soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other products
  • Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies
  • Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
  • Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices and comply with HACCP standards
  • Operate a variety of kitchen equipment
  • Measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables
  • Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of product
