Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch for cleaning tasks
  • Comfortable communicating in English
  • Flexible schedule to work in a nonstop hospitality operation
  • Positive attitude and passion for culinary arts
  • Must embody the hotel’s Vision, Values, and culture

Job Qualifications

  • Previous culinary experience in a supervisory or lead cook role
  • Ability to work every station in the kitchen
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food safety standards
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to lead and develop junior cooks
  • Attention to detail
  • Commitment to teamwork and collaboration
  • Ability to handle special dietary requests with creativity

Job Duties

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning, chopping, and storing
  • Set up, clean, and break down work station
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen areas including tables, tools, knives, and equipment
  • Assist all culinary outlets and work every station in the kitchen successfully
  • Guide and encourage development of junior cooks
  • Communicate daily with Sous Chefs and Executive Sous Chef regarding kitchen and hotel status
  • Ensure kitchen maintains highest possible sanitary standards
  • Prepare and cook food to meet guest expectations
  • Address special dietary and allergy requests and create special dishes for occasions
  • Report and help correct kitchen and hotel imperfections
  • Maintain communication with other departments to ensure operational alignment
