Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- OR food handlers card or equivalent
- Food Protection Manager Certification within 6 months of hire
- Two years of experience as a cook in a commercial food service facility or culinary arts or Foods and Hospitality Service certificate
- ability to adhere to sanitation and food safety standards
- physical ability to handle kitchen equipment and perform cleaning duties
- willingness to cover co-workers breaks and absences
- ability to work in environments with loud noise, heat, grease, and cold
Job Qualifications
- An OR food handlers card or equivalent
- Food Protection Manager Certification within 6 months of hire
- Two years of experience as a cook in a commercial food service facility or possession of a culinary arts or Foods and Hospitality Service certificate from a certified community college or technical school
- Food handlers card or Servsafe certificate obtained by hire date
- preferred high school or culinary diplomas
- preferred 2 years industry related experience
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook existing and new recipes for patients and guests
- convey supplies and store foods using OHSU specified controls
- monitor and record food temperatures
- ensure food and work safety compliance
- clean kitchen equipment and work areas
- cover co-workers for breaks and absences
- perform special preparation such as banquets and special assignments
