Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • OR food handlers card or equivalent
  • Food Protection Manager Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Two years of experience as a cook in a commercial food service facility or culinary arts or Foods and Hospitality Service certificate
  • ability to adhere to sanitation and food safety standards
  • physical ability to handle kitchen equipment and perform cleaning duties
  • willingness to cover co-workers breaks and absences
  • ability to work in environments with loud noise, heat, grease, and cold

Job Qualifications

  • An OR food handlers card or equivalent
  • Food Protection Manager Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Two years of experience as a cook in a commercial food service facility or possession of a culinary arts or Foods and Hospitality Service certificate from a certified community college or technical school
  • Food handlers card or Servsafe certificate obtained by hire date
  • preferred high school or culinary diplomas
  • preferred 2 years industry related experience

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook existing and new recipes for patients and guests
  • convey supplies and store foods using OHSU specified controls
  • monitor and record food temperatures
  • ensure food and work safety compliance
  • clean kitchen equipment and work areas
  • cover co-workers for breaks and absences
  • perform special preparation such as banquets and special assignments
