Job Requirements

  • An OR food handlers card or equivalent
  • food protection manager certification within 6 months of hire
  • two years of experience as a cook in a commercial food service facility or possession of a certificate of completion in culinary arts or foods and hospitality service from a certified community college or technical school
  • food handlers card or servsafe certificate obtained by hire date

Job Duties

  • Prepare existing and new recipes for patients and guests
  • produce menu items and special requests
  • use commercial kitchen equipment such as grills, steam kettles, choppers, blenders, and slicers
  • clean kitchen equipment and work areas including mopping, sweeping, and scrubbing
  • adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
  • monitor and record food storage temperatures
  • cover for co-workers during breaks and absences
  • assist in special food preparations for banquets and special assignments
