Job Requirements
- One year of experience as a cook in a commercial food service facility
- or possession of a certificate of completion in culinary arts and/or foods and hospitality service from a certified community college or technical school
- ability to obtain Lane County Food Handler's card within two weeks of employment
- successful completion of cooking practical demonstrating knife skills, cooking methods, sanitation, plate presentation, and timing
- ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
- reliable and current contact information
- commitment to essential personnel attendance
Job Qualifications
- Experience preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a high volume kitchen
- experience directing the work of other staff
- exhibition cooking experience
- experience working within a HACCP plan
- ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain professional demeanor
- ability to prioritize duties
Job Duties
- Prepare daily specials and entrees
- operate kitchen equipment
- keep accurate food and inventory records
- oversee Food Service Worker 2 staff and student employees
- develop daily work plans for assigned area
- monitor food safety and sanitation procedures within HACCP plan
- provide training to staff and student employees
