Job Requirements

  • Depending on the role, 1 year for Pantry/Prep to 5 years for Lead of prior cooking experience in a hotel kitchen or related field preferred
  • Culinary training in a college setting preferred
  • Ability to use various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull objects
  • Ability to stand for long periods without sitting or leaning
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body and arms
  • Ability to work under variable temperature and noise levels
  • Near vision ability to see details at close range
  • Ability to move quickly and agilely if needed
  • Ability to work long hours when required
  • Ability to multitask
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to understand and convey information in English

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary training in a college setting preferred
  • Experience from 1 year for Pantry/Prep Cook to 5 years for Lead Cook in a hotel kitchen or related field preferred
  • Experience in banquet, fine dining, or line cooking required for certain roles
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment efficiently and safely
  • Good communication skills in English to convey and understand information
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Duties

  • Be great at what you do by mastering your job and assisting or training others as needed
  • Prepare delicious high quality food for restaurant and banquet guests based on established guidelines
  • Prepare cold food items such as salads, cold appetizers, desserts, sandwiches, and salad dressings if working as Pantry/Prep Cook
  • Provide hot breakfast meals for guests as a Breakfast Cook
  • Work collaboratively as a team to ensure timely and accurate food preparation and guest satisfaction
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area following all sanitation and food safety procedures
  • Adhere to hotel safety and security policies and procedures, anticipating problems and seeking management assistance when necessary
