Job Requirements
- Depending on the role, 1 year for Pantry/Prep to 5 years for Lead of prior cooking experience in a hotel kitchen or related field preferred
- Culinary training in a college setting preferred
- Ability to use various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull objects
- Ability to stand for long periods without sitting or leaning
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body and arms
- Ability to work under variable temperature and noise levels
- Near vision ability to see details at close range
- Ability to move quickly and agilely if needed
- Ability to work long hours when required
- Ability to multitask
- Good communication skills
- Ability to understand and convey information in English
Job Qualifications
- Culinary training in a college setting preferred
- Experience from 1 year for Pantry/Prep Cook to 5 years for Lead Cook in a hotel kitchen or related field preferred
- Experience in banquet, fine dining, or line cooking required for certain roles
- Ability to use kitchen equipment efficiently and safely
- Good communication skills in English to convey and understand information
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Job Duties
- Be great at what you do by mastering your job and assisting or training others as needed
- Prepare delicious high quality food for restaurant and banquet guests based on established guidelines
- Prepare cold food items such as salads, cold appetizers, desserts, sandwiches, and salad dressings if working as Pantry/Prep Cook
- Provide hot breakfast meals for guests as a Breakfast Cook
- Work collaboratively as a team to ensure timely and accurate food preparation and guest satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area following all sanitation and food safety procedures
- Adhere to hotel safety and security policies and procedures, anticipating problems and seeking management assistance when necessary
