Job Requirements

  • Experience in food preparation methods and procedures
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform simple arithmetic
  • Physically able to lift objects up to 40 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend for long periods
  • Ability to obtain Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler training

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in food preparation methods and procedures including presentation and following recipes
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Basic arithmetic skills
  • Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and stand for long periods
  • Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler training
  • Preferred one year or more experience as a cook in grill, snack bar, restaurant, or similar environment

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items such as hamburgers, grilled sandwiches, eggs, quick meals, cold sandwiches and salads
  • Operate kitchen equipment utilizing gas, electricity, steam, or microwave heat sources
  • Grill or fry steaks, chops, poultry, pancakes, bacon, sausage by monitoring and turning items as needed
  • Prepare fresh, frozen, or canned vegetables and fruits for serving
  • Prepare desserts, juices, and other items as directed
  • Maintain food inventory rotation and proper temperature for all foods during holding, transport, reheating, and serving
  • Clean and maintain equipment, utensils, and work areas following safety and sanitation standards
  • Assist with monthly food and beverage inventory
  • Perform bar-related duties such as filling ice bins, replacing beer kegs, and stocking coolers
  • Remove soiled dishes and maintain cleanliness of dining and kitchen areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned
