Job Requirements

  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Three or more years of previous hotel convention service manager experience required
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Maintain professional appearance and manner at all times
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition

Job Duties

  • Assist in the efficient operation of the Convention Services Department
  • Coordinate assigned convention or meeting groups professionally
  • Perform administrative duties relevant to account responsibilities
  • Document and organize detailed function requirements
  • Coordinate activities of various departments to service accounts
  • Resolve problems and provide open communication
  • Communicate with sales, front office, banquets, and reservations to coordinate guest room blocks
  • Assign banquet and meeting room setups based on client needs
  • Review banquet associates work to ensure accuracy
  • Monitor in-house group activity and provide assistance
  • Establish rapport with and entertain meeting planners while promoting facilities
  • Conduct walking site inspections throughout the property
  • Advise sales staff on client demand accommodation
  • Assist sales staff in promoting the hotel, developing leads, and securing rebookings
  • Plan and conduct pre and post convention meetings
  • Document and track group activity
  • Access and input data into computer systems for account reports
  • Communicate clearly to staff both verbally and in writing
  • Comply with attendance rules and work availability
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
