Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years of catering and rooms experience in hospitality industry
- Proven ability to provide quality customer service
- Preferred leadership experience
- Strong English communication skills
- Familiarity with hotel policies and procedures
- Understanding of convention and catering operations
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Two or more years of catering and rooms experience in hospitality industry
- Proven track record of providing quality service
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Knowledge of hotel and Westmont and Hilton policies and procedures
- Knowledge of convention, catering, food and beverage, and hospitality professions
- Skills to manage people and variables in major function development
- Computer literate in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Delphi preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with group sales and hotel departments
- Plan, organize, and manage in-house details for group and convention bookings
- Monitor convention groups room requirements
- Manage function details to ensure program requirements are met
- Anticipate and handle customer complaints or problems
- Develop new sales tools, menus, themes, and decorations
- Monitor and control event budgets to maximize revenues and minimize expenses
- Communicate with customers regarding event details
- Act as liaison between hotel and customer during event process
- Lead pre-event and post-event meetings
- Manage group room blocks and meeting space
- Greet customers during event phase and hand off to operations
- Adhere to all hotel standards, policies, and procedures
- Integrate current trends in meetings and special events
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
- Ensure high level of customer satisfaction
- Display leadership in guest hospitality
- Handle guest problems and complaints
- Utilize hotel systems to capture and manage customer information
- Demonstrate commitment to operating principles
- Hold self and others accountable
