Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of catering and rooms experience in hospitality industry
  • Proven ability to provide quality customer service
  • Preferred leadership experience
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Familiarity with hotel policies and procedures
  • Understanding of convention and catering operations
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Two or more years of catering and rooms experience in hospitality industry
  • Proven track record of providing quality service
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Knowledge of hotel and Westmont and Hilton policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of convention, catering, food and beverage, and hospitality professions
  • Skills to manage people and variables in major function development
  • Computer literate in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Delphi preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with group sales and hotel departments
  • Plan, organize, and manage in-house details for group and convention bookings
  • Monitor convention groups room requirements
  • Manage function details to ensure program requirements are met
  • Anticipate and handle customer complaints or problems
  • Develop new sales tools, menus, themes, and decorations
  • Monitor and control event budgets to maximize revenues and minimize expenses
  • Communicate with customers regarding event details
  • Act as liaison between hotel and customer during event process
  • Lead pre-event and post-event meetings
  • Manage group room blocks and meeting space
  • Greet customers during event phase and hand off to operations
  • Adhere to all hotel standards, policies, and procedures
  • Integrate current trends in meetings and special events
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Ensure high level of customer satisfaction
  • Display leadership in guest hospitality
  • Handle guest problems and complaints
  • Utilize hotel systems to capture and manage customer information
  • Demonstrate commitment to operating principles
  • Hold self and others accountable
  • Address conflict timely
