Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in hospitality or event coordination preferred
  • knowledge of lighting and sound equipment
  • proficiency with computer systems
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to work flexible schedule including standing and walking for long periods
  • ability to lift, grasp, carry, and push up to 50 pounds
  • self-starter with strong customer service orientation
  • ability to collaborate effectively with team members

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Document and organize detailed requirements of each function
  • coordinate activities of various departments to service accounts
  • communicate with sales, front office and reservations to coordinate guest room blocks and special reservation needs
  • assign banquet and meeting rooms set-up based on client needs
  • monitor in-house group activity and provide assistance such as organizing exhibit set up
  • establish rapport with meeting planners and promote hotel facilities
  • conduct site inspections throughout the property
  • advise sales staff on client accommodation including phone requirements and available space
  • assist sales staff in promoting hotel, developing leads and securing rebookings
  • plan and conduct pre- and post-convention meetings with clients and departments
  • document tracking of group activity
  • input data into computer system for account history reports
  • communicate clearly with staff verbally and in writing
