Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
- College course work in related field helpful
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Must be effective in handling workplace problems including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems
- Must have the ability to assimilate complex information,data from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet specific needs
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving concerns raised by coworkers and guests
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and perform basic arithmetic functions

Job Duties
- Approach all encounters with guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with the Odessa Marriott Hotel & Conference Center standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including compliance with dress code and wearing name tag per brand standards
- Comply with hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
- Maintain sales files in an organized fashion and ensure all inquiries are dealt with accurately, timely and professionally
- Type sales contracts, banquet event orders, correspondence, reports, forms, direct mail pieces as needed by sales team
- Assist Group Housing Coordinator with room block details
- Respond to meeting and catering inquiries
- Distribute and collect weekly group resumes
- Maintain file system to ensure office organization and efficiency
- Maintain CI/TY system ensuring consistency, accuracy and proper functioning
- Assist managers on creative projects including proposals, invitations, special events
- Maintain timely and effective paper flow and communication within department and other departments
- Work with Convention Services Manager, Catering Manager, Sales Managers detailing upcoming functions, obtaining guarantees, confirming arrangements
- Distribute BEOs, changes, rooming lists, signed contracts, revisions to appropriate departments
- Assist guests and clients with small changes, requests, completing paperwork for managers
- Conduct site inspections for the department as needed
- Maintain paper flow of thank you letters for groups/functions and distribute accordingly
- Call clients for guaranteed numbers for functions 72 hours prior, create/close house accounts, complete AV orders
- Organize in house deliveries, amenities, welcome letters, transportation schedules as needed
- Perform other duties related to Sales and Marketing and Convention Services as required by management
- Be familiar with all hotel sales policies and house rules
- Ensure associates are attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow associates
- Assist sales team with any other required duties
