Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail or convenience store experience preferred
- Ability to stand and walk frequently during an 8-hour workday
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level occasionally, and push/pull frequently
- Capable of lifting weights up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficiency in using point of sale systems and related store equipment
- Ability to handle fast-paced, demanding environments
- Working knowledge of state and federal sales laws
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and make sound decisions
- Availability to work assigned schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical capability to perform cleaning and food preparation tasks
- Adherence to safety protocols and proper lifting techniques
Job Qualifications
- Retail experience in a similar position or proficiency in similar tasks
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to use cash registers, POS systems, computers, telephones, and other equipment
- Willingness to learn all areas of the store and assist in training
- Skilled at providing prompt and attentive customer service
- Ability to work as part of a team and interact with customers from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and perform routine tasks
- Commitment to regular and punctual attendance
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic math, record keeping, and data interpretation skills
Job Duties
- Provide efficient and courteous service to customers
- Assist in food service production including preparing sandwiches and doughnuts
- Follow company food safety program
- Scan and ring customer orders per company policy
- Be accountable for all funds from transactions
- Keep workstation and store areas clean
- Comply with state and local laws on tobacco and alcohol sales
- Follow federal food stamps laws and company coupon handling
- Enforce company policies on check cashing, lottery, and money order sales
- Assist with stocking and ordering store products
- Clean and maintain fuel pump and public restrooms
- Brew coffee and clean food service equipment
- Maintain food service supplies and sanitation
- Secure safe combinations, keys, and numbers
- Perform computer room duties including reporting and register balancing
- Execute additional duties as assigned
