Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering control systems engineering or related technical discipline
Minimum of five years of direct experience managing the controls and software scope of large-scale baggage handling systems or automated materials handling projects
Expert knowledge of industrial control platforms and industrial network design
Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets schedules and technical risk related to controls system integration and commissioning
Experience in contract management change order negotiation and managing controls subcontractors
Strong leadership technical troubleshooting and communication skills
Ability to pass background checks and obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Control Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline
Minimum of five (5) years of proven direct experience managing the controls and software scope of large-scale Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) or automated materials handling projects
Expert knowledge of industrial control platforms (Rockwell Automation or Siemens PLC/SCADA) and industrial network design
Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets schedules and technical risk specifically related to controls system integration and commissioning
Experience in contract management change order negotiation and managing controls subcontractors
Strong leadership technical troubleshooting and communication skills for interfacing with technical teams clients and operational staff
Ability to pass background checks and obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge for work at secure airport locations

Job Duties

Lead the controls portion of BHS projects including scope definition budget management resource allocation and timeline adherence for PLC programming HMI/SCADA development and network architecture
Serve as the primary point of contact for the client general contractor and internal BHS project team regarding all technical controls issues and decisions
Manage and direct the activities of controls engineers programmers and field technicians ensuring standardized coding practices and quality execution
Oversee the procurement of all control system hardware including PLCs servers field devices and networking components managing vendor contracts and delivery schedules
Plan manage and execute comprehensive control system testing phases including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and final system commissioning
Ensure all control system designs and programming comply with aviation security standards (TSA PGDS) electrical safety codes (NFPA 79 UL) and operational performance guarantees
Track project progress against the controls budget and schedule providing detailed technical and financial reporting to the overall Project Manager and executive stakeholders
Manage the successful integration of the BHS controls with high-level airport systems such as the Baggage Reconciliation System (BRS) and facility IT network
