Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in safety and health, engineering, environmental sciences or related field
- minimum 10 years of professional safety experience in heavy construction projects preferably rail or transit
- valid SMS or CHST certificate issued by BCSP or CSMC certificate issued by NASP
- current first aid/CPR/AED certification
- ability to audit and report safety compliance
- experience in safety incident reporting and construction reporting
- willingness to relocate or travel to project site
- strong organizational skills
- excellent communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety and Health, Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related field
- minimum of 10 years of professional safety experience on heavy construction projects, preferably in rail/transit
- strong experience in safety incident reporting and daily construction reporting for multiple projects
- valid Safety Management Specialist (SMS) certificate or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certificate issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)
- or Certified Safety Manager Construction (CSMC) certificate issued by the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP)
- current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
- excellent communication and leadership skills
- willingness to relocate or travel to project sites
Job Duties
- Audit and report on the contractor's compliance with the client's contractual requirements and safety programs
- procure all necessary safety equipment for staff and train in proper use
- maintain records of all staff safety training
- review contractor safety plans and ongoing safety performance
- perform management oversight of construction activity on behalf of the client
- monitor compliance to all current OSHA requirements related to construction projects
- perform daily safety reviews of work in progress according to Safety Regulations and SOP
- conduct ongoing construction site safety inspections and generate daily safety reports
- review contractor submitted incident reports, participate in safety stand-downs, and submit lessons learned to Program Safety Manager
- monitor adherence to zero tolerance and corrective action policy for workers not in compliance with safety policy
