Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of company orientation
- Completion of food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely up to 50 pounds in bakery or 55 pounds in deli

- Willingness to perform department-specific tasks
- Ability to comply with food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answers customer questions regarding products
- Assists them with selections
- Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- Slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- Assists in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- Uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- Cleans and sanitizes display cases
- Operates and maintains equipment properly
- Complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- Complies with department and store operating procedures
- Records production and shrink to aid in production planning (Bakery)
- Assists in baking, frying, and decorating (Bakery)
- Takes care of service counter customers (Deli)
- Uses ordering system applications (Deli)
- Uses Fresh Production Planner (Deli)
- Performs inventory management processes (Deli)
- Ensures catering orders are prepared and ready in time for Customer pickup (if applicable)
- Performs all sanitation and maintenance tasks for Deli slicers
- Serves and packages products at customer's request (Prepared Foods)
- Educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions of prepared foods
- Prepackages condiments for prepared food items
- Cuts, slices, dices, chops food in preparation for chef
