Job Requirements

  • Food service experience preferred
  • Previous experience working in a kitchen or similar environment preferred
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office suite applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Ability to develop professional, cooperative working relationships
  • Ability to motivate and lead teams
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to food service
  • Must be available to work weekends on a rotating basis including alternating Saturdays and Sundays
  • Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds
  • Onsite work required
  • Specific vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
  • Mandatory reporter for elder abuse

Job Qualifications

  • Food service experience preferred
  • Previous experience working in a kitchen or similar environment preferred
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office suite applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior customer service skills including the identification of customer needs and follow-up to ensure those needs have been met
  • Ability to develop professional, cooperative working relationships with participants, participants' family, other employees and volunteers
  • Ability to motivate and lead teams
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to food service

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the day-to-day food service at the site
  • Act as a liaison with all food service vendors
  • Oversee the collection of daily meal donations
  • Provide accurate daily and weekly accounting of clients-served to the Site Manager
  • Act as a concierge to seniors, guests and volunteers in the dining room
  • Responsible for distributing the monthly menus
  • Support outreach efforts to promote program services in the community
  • Report any suspicious circumstances or suspected elder abuse to Adult Protective Services
  • Ensure all appropriate policies and procedures are followed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
