  • at least two years of experience in a role requiring strong organizational, coordination, or customer service skills
  • experience in conference services, student unions, hospitality, or related fields
  • ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate initiative
  • strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solutions-oriented approach
  • comprehensive understanding of event and conference management processes and systems
  • proficiency in applying best practices to ensure smooth coordination of services
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused mindset

Job Duties

  • Coordinate all aspects of conference and event operations including reservations, agendas, schematics, and logistical schedules for year-round and summer programming
  • serve as the primary customer service representative for clients facilitating access to housing, dining, recreation, meeting space, parking, ID card services, and information resources
  • effectively utilize event management and university software systems to track and deliver conference details
  • draft and process facility use agreements, permits, sponsorship acknowledgments, and other contractual documents in alignment with UMKC Business Services policies and municipal requirements
  • prepare and issue accurate invoices for internal and external clients
  • maintain strong communication with campus partners and clients to ensure a positive, professional experience
