Job Requirements
- Completion of more than two years post high school education
- two to four years employment in a related position
- knowledge of banquet and catering services and policies
- proficiency with computer equipment
- ability to compile accurate data
- supervisory experience
- excellent verbal communication skills
- physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- ability to bend, kneel and stand for long periods
- mobility to service clients promptly
- ability to handle variable indoor and outdoor temperature conditions

Job Duties
- Plan and organize in-house details for large group and convention bookings
- participate in negotiating meetings for functions, rooms, rates, and related requirements
- ensure maximization of room and meeting space, revenues, and profits
- coordinate all aspects of event planning from contract signing to event execution including VIP needs and rooming lists
- attend Banquet Event Order and staff meetings, acting as team leader for event delivery
- maintain organized and up-to-date documentation
- develop customer profiles and follow up on all client needs
- focus on revenue-generating activities and maximize selling time
- detail and upsell program requirements including space, equipment, menus, and themes
- manage function details to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
- oversee billing details and coordinate with accounting
- improve hotel convention services through development of sales tools and competitive analysis
- monitor client event budgets and expenses
- lead pre-conference meetings and review event details
- close out group contracts and commission processing
