Job Requirements
- Valid work authorization for the U.S.
- Previous experience in event management or hospitality
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- Proficiency in computer systems related to food and beverage management
- Excellent customer service skills
- Attention to detail
Job Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of guest service, cost control, labor control, merchandising and accounting
- One to two years previous employment in a related position
- College degree preferred
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel or similar environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Passion for customer service
- Ability to operate computer equipment and food and beverage computer systems
- Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English
Job Duties
- Serve as a primary point of contact for corporate conferences, meetings, professional teams and entertainment once contracted through post-event follow-up
- Manage all aspects of events, including room setup, catering and special requests
- Oversee the execution of events, stay on-site and troubleshoot any issues
- Work cohesively with culinary, banquets, front office and operational teams to deliver seamless service
- Drive revenue and exceed goals through upselling in banquets food and beverage to assigned groups
- Forecast food and beverage events for assigned groups
- Manage guestroom blocks for assigned groups and provide updates during group pickup meetings
- Communicate and provide solutions to clients about rooms and food and beverage attrition
- Provide excellent customer service and manage customer expectations
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and guiding event execution
- Maintain budgets and communicate estimated expenses to clients
- Prepare and distribute event documents such as Banquet Event Orders, diagrams, resumes, and post-event reports
- Conduct pre-conference and post-event meetings
- Lead planning site visits
