Job Requirements

  • Minimum education as required in hospitality or related field
  • At least one year experience in hospitality and catering sales
  • Experience working in a similar size and quality hotel
  • Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
  • Familiarity with sales techniques and revenue management
  • Ability to manage client relationships and execute action plans
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Willingness to comply with attendance rules and work regular hours

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in hospitality with specific catering sales experience
  • Minimum of one year in the Hospitality Industry
  • Experience at a similar size and quality hotel
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
  • Knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and peer motivation
  • Understanding of hotel features, benefits, and competing local hotels
  • Ability to implement appropriate action plans
  • Knowledge of hotel operations including marketing plans, security, personnel relations, business planning, budget forecasting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long-range plans
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Understand monthly forecasting and the annual budget process
  • Raise meeting planner evaluation scores and implement methods to exceed client satisfaction
  • Optimize room rental charges
  • Participate in the re-booking of repeat business by maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Actively engage in industry organizations such as NACE and MPI
  • Apply strong sales techniques including closing and negotiating skills
  • Conduct hotel site inspections and client presentations
  • Provide creative event setups and work with Chef on pricing specialty menus
  • Collaborate with banquet department on operations and event execution
  • Manage banquet event orders generated by the Convention Services Department
  • Provide and operate Audio/Visual equipment as a profit center
  • Use computer programs like Delphi, Word, and Excel proficiently
  • Monitor group room blocks and pick up, and generate detailed resumes for operating departments
  • Work with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction
  • Comply with attendance policies and perform other assigned duties
