Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of event planning or hospitality sales experience
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Must wear closed-toe and heel shoes
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Must adhere to safety policies and use personal protective equipment as required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work varying schedules including holidays and weekends
  • Clean appearance and professional demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management desired
  • Two years of experience planning and executing events with convention services, catering, or banquets
  • Ability to prepare creative menu offerings and understand food and wine pairing
  • Knowledge of sales techniques with strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and audio/visual technology
  • Ability to multitask and pay strong attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Ability to solve problems and remain calm in stressful situations

Job Duties

  • Meet with customers to understand needs and suggest event setups
  • Execute written sales agreements for diverse events including meetings and social gatherings
  • Create and maintain banquet event orders detailing event instructions, menus and setup
  • Disseminate event details to operational departments to ensure customer needs are met
  • Attend and oversee event execution, working closely with banquet staff
  • Maintain organized client files and sales records
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers through frequent and professional interactions
