Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years relevant experience in event planning or hospitality
- Ability to plan and execute events
- Strong sales and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in computer and audiovisual technologies
- Must wear closed toe and heel shoes
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work varying schedules including weekends and holidays
- Ability to maintain professional demeanor
- Compliance with safety and HAZMAT policies
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks
- Strong problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to operate office systems and prepare business documents
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management desired
- Two years of experience planning, organizing, and/or executing events with convention services, catering, or banquets
- Ability to assist in preparing creative menu offerings
- Experience with food and wine pairing
- Ability to understand and participate in forecasting and budgeting processes
- Strong sales techniques and negotiation skills
- Ability to generate innovative menus and functions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Knowledge of audiovisual technology
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail
- Ability to solve problems and remain calm in emergencies
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Must demonstrate positive attitude and professionalism
- Ability to interpret various instructions and business materials
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
Job Duties
- Meet with customers to understand needs and offer suggestions
- Determine all event set-up needs, equipment, and menu items
- Anticipate needs for flawless event execution
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell services
- Host or participate in site inspections and client presentations
- Execute written sales agreements for varied events
- Create and maintain banquet event orders outlining event details
- Communicate event details to operational departments
- Attend and oversee event execution to ensure client satisfaction
- Operate in compliance with safety policies including PPE use
- Report to work punctually and reliably
