Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years related experience in event planning or hospitality
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to negotiate and close sales
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Ability to multitask and solve problems
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends
- Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Compliance with safety policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management desired
- Two years experience planning, organizing, and/or executing events with Convention services, Catering, and/or Banquets
- Ability to assist in preparing creative menu offerings
- Experience with food and wine pairing desired
- Ability to participate in monthly forecasting and annual budget processes
- Strong sales techniques with negotiation and closing skills
- Excellent creative skills for innovative set-ups and menus
- Completion of all required training
- Ability to determine customer needs and present sales options effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Ability to use logic and reasoning for problem solving
- Working knowledge of MS Office and hotel computer systems
- Knowledge of Audio/Visual technology
- Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Flexibility to work varying schedules including weekends and holidays
- Clean appearance and professional demeanor
Job Duties
- Meet with customers to understand needs, offer suggestions, and determine set-up needs, equipment, and menu items
- Anticipate all needs for flawless event execution
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell services
- Host or participate in site inspections and client presentations to showcase property offerings
- Execute written sales agreements for varied events
- Create and maintain banquet event orders (BEO) outlining event details
- Maintain contact with customers to finalize event specifics
- Disseminate information to operational departments
- Attend and oversee event execution to ensure satisfaction
- Wear closed toe and heel shoes, follow safety policies
- Report to work as scheduled
- Maintain well-documented, accurate file management system
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
- Promptly follow up with customer inquiries
- Resolve guest complaints within authority or escalate
- Notify supervisor or security of unusual events
- Comply with safety, HAZMAT, and PPE protocols
