Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- State Security Officer License
- Prefer one year of job related experience
- Effective communication skills in the residents primary language
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and operating instructions
- Capability to write routine reports
- Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions
- Basic computer proficiency
- Demonstrated interest in working with a senior population
- Courteous and friendly interaction with guests, residents and staff
- Ability to work outdoors and indoors all year round
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- State Security Officer License
- One year job related experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of the residents
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Basic computer skills required
- Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population
- Ability to interact with guests, residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner
- Willingness to work both outdoors and indoors all year
Job Duties
- Promoting and guarding the community property and assets against fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry by unauthorized persons while meeting and/or exceeding service standards
- Conduct safety and security inspections of all community property including common areas, resident corridors, parking areas and perimeter access
- Patrol community property to prevent and discover activities violating criminal, fire, or safety codes
- Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and security doors left unsecured
- Investigate and report unlawful acts or safety hazards that threaten persons or property
- Investigate all incidents and suspicious occurrences, filing detailed incident reports
- Respond to all security calls and complaints, taking necessary action and handling emergencies until relieved by a supervisor
- Inspect and report dangerous conditions and any damaged or defective equipment, machinery and property
- Secure and unlock areas and buildings according to policy and community expectations
- Assist in emergency response procedures as per community policy
- May be required to drive the community vehicle
- Perform other duties as assigned
