Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years experience in hospital or customer service role
  • Ability to provide high level customer service
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Availability to work variable shifts including weekends as needed
  • Willingness to join union as part of employment terms
  • Compliance with collective bargaining agreement terms

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years experience in a hospital or customer service position
  • Effective interpersonal and customer relations skills
  • Ability to remain calm with angry or distressed patients or visitors
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong telephone etiquette and communication skills
  • Ability to train and oversee volunteers
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and service recovery methods

Job Duties

  • Assist administration in delivering high level of customer service in the main lobby by providing relevant and timely information and assistance to patients visitors and staff
  • Provide volunteer guidance and training in concierge duties
  • Maintain a safe and orderly lobby environment
  • Monitor and maintain comfort cart ensuring refreshments are fresh and area is clean
  • Coordinate wheelchair availability maintenance and storage
  • Assist administration and other departments with ad hoc duties and projects
  • Answer phone and triage incoming telephone calls
  • Identify and resolve customer satisfaction issues and refer high level complaints appropriately
  • Update resource and referral services and maintain printed resource materials and telephone lists
  • Advocate the mission values and philosophy of Sharp HealthCare and exemplify customer service to the lobby team
  • Oversee volunteers ensuring knowledge of facility IDX patient system escorting function and problem solving
  • Utilize service recovery tools and communication methods such as AIDET
  • Participate in problem identification and solutions and model Sharp Behavior Standards
