Job Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years experience in hospital or customer service setting
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with basic computer functions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Adherence to privacy and PPI regulations
  • Ability to work variable shifts including weekends as needed
  • Must join the union within 31 days if hired under the collective bargaining agreement

Job Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Two years experience in a hospital or customer service position
  • Effective interpersonal and customer relations skills
  • Ability to remain calm with angry or distressed patients or visitors
  • Good organizational skills and basic computer knowledge
  • Good telephone etiquette and ability to handle frequent interruptions

Job Duties

  • Assist administration in delivering a high level of customer service in the main lobby by providing relevant and timely information and assistance to patients, visitors and staff
  • Provide volunteer guidance and training in concierge duties
  • Maintain a safe and orderly lobby
  • Maintain and monitor comfort cart to assure refreshments are fresh and area is clean
  • Coordinate wheelchair availability, maintenance and storage
  • Assist administration and other departments with ad hoc duties and projects
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Input data
  • Adhere to PPI regulations when sorting, labeling and discarding or distributing patient belongings
  • Provide information and answer questions
  • Identify and resolve customer satisfaction issues and report them to appropriate departments
  • Answer phone and triage incoming telephone calls
  • Utilize service recovery tools appropriately
  • Round with purpose using AIDET communication
  • Refer high-level complaints to Patient Relations
  • Update resource/referral services and provide information
  • Maintain printed resource materials and telephone lists
  • Ensure concierge manual remains current
  • Advocate Sharp HealthCare’s mission, values and philosophy
  • Demonstrate effective communication and telephone etiquette
  • Manage up co-workers and volunteers for reward and recognition
  • Work with other concierge staff to develop standardized practices
  • Demonstrate positive initiative and motivation
  • Participate in problem identification and solutions
  • Apply ‘Must Haves’ when dealing with patients, guests and staff
  • Utilize ‘warm handoff’ technique when needed
  • Oversee volunteers to ensure knowledge of facility and IDX patient information system
  • Ensure volunteers utilize service recovery tools and AIDET
  • Monitor volunteer use of ‘warm handoff’ when needed
