Job Requirements

  • High school graduate
  • Minimum 1 year of concierge or customer service experience in a large public facility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Availability to work weekends, specifically Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Physical ability to stand, walk or run for approximately 95% of the workday
  • Ability to withstand exposure to weather elements
  • Capability to push, pull, and lift approximately 50 lbs
  • Ability to tolerate odors from auto emissions and gasoline
  • Readiness to operate necessary job equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in service management as a concierge or greeter in a large public facility
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently
  • Ability to work a flexible, customer-oriented schedule
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to collaborate with multiple hospital departments

Job Duties

  • Greets customers and assesses their immediate needs
  • Successfully manages the first impression of the facility
  • Offers assistance such as helping customers out of vehicles, locating wheelchairs, providing directions, and escorting to destinations
  • Passes customers to volunteers for escorts when possible
  • Utilizes Admitting or other departments to verify destination and remains with patients who are alone or in wheelchairs
  • Assists in maintaining smooth traffic flow at facility entrances
  • Coordinates parking needs including valet service, tour buses, short-term visitors, and transportation needs like taxi vouchers and bus passes
  • Ensures working area is clean, safe, and free from obstacles
  • Reports any security or safety issues to Public Safety Services
  • Collaborates with hospital support staff including Public Safety, Environmental Services, Plant Operations, Patient Transport, and Grounds
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care based on patient age-specific needs as per department policies and procedures
