Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Prior experience in working with public
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Comfortable with a multi-line telephone system
  • Good physical and mental health
  • Interest in people, especially the geriatric population
  • Ability to work without close supervision and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Use tact and courtesy in dealing with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, employees and contacts
  • Willingness to perform non-professional duties
  • Level-headed in emergencies
  • Spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm
  • Attend mandatory meetings and training
  • Maintain confidentiality

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Prior experience working with the public
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Comfortable with a multi-line telephone system including answering, taking messages and transferring calls
  • Good physical and mental health
  • Interest in people, especially the geriatric population
  • Ability to work without close supervision and to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Use tact and courtesy in dealing with staff, residents, families and visitors
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees and outside contacts
  • Willingness to perform non-professional duties
  • Ability to remain level-headed in emergency situations
  • Spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm
  • Attend all mandatory company meetings and specified training sessions
  • Maintain confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Receive guests and visitors, having them sign in
  • Assist visitors in finding resident rooms
  • Answer telephone, takes messages including caller's name, telephone number, time and date of call, respond to requests, forward information to other staff members
  • Announce appointments and arrivals to appropriate staff
  • Type memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents as requested
  • Sort mail and distribute appropriately to mailboxes, residents and departments if requested
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to ensure that resident rights are protected
  • Be knowledgeable about community services and rates, providing families and/or prospective residents with tours and/or community information
  • Assemble and maintain admission and information packets
  • Keep front desk and lobby area neat and organized
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Business Office Manager or Executive Director
  • Other duties as assigned
