Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least six months experience in payroll, insurance, or clerical position
  • Ability to type at least 50 words per minute with high accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality according to the Privacy Act
  • Capability to handle repetitious tasks for extended periods
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to operate office machines and computer
  • Reliable and punctual with notification of absences or tardiness
  • Ability to respond promptly to emergency situations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least six months experience in payroll, insurance and/or clerical position
  • Prefer two years of experience in payroll, insurance and/or clerical position
  • Courses in payroll, bookkeeping, office procedures, and related subjects

Job Duties

  • Answers incoming telephone calls and direct to appropriate person or department
  • Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent personnel information in accordance with the Privacy Act and established policies
  • Types documents, reports, letters, etc., at least 50 words per minute with high accuracy
  • Remains at repetitious tasks for long periods while completing paperwork
  • Recognizes, responds to, and reports resident emergency situations immediately
  • Maintains strict confidentiality on all facility data
  • Communicates with and supports residents, families, visitors, etc.
  • Maintains privacy of records relating to residents, employees and facility
  • Performs assigned tasks in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Notifies supervisor of pending absence or tardiness
  • Operates copier, office machines, computer
  • Prepares and mails statements according to billing procedures
  • Assists in preparing time cards and distributing payroll checks
  • Maintains current files and listings of residents, emergency phone numbers, key personnel
  • Greets visitors and monitors or reports suspicious persons or situations
  • Receives, sorts and distributes mail
  • Refers difficult interactions to Administrator or appropriate department head
  • Conducts annual salary and wage surveys and reports findings
  • Assists in reporting complaints and grievances
  • Assists with completing forms and reports not considered essential functions
  • Assists with supply inventory
