Job Duties
- Answers telephone promptly preferably by the third ring
- Ensure calls are identified and properly categorized to forward to appropriate area timely and efficiently
- Demonstrates proper telephone etiquette when receiving transferring and placing calls on hold
- Accurately enters patient demographics information and insurance data
- Verifies insurance information collects referrals and authorizations or other forms as documented
- Checks to ensure patients fill out applicable forms completely and correctly
- Informs secretary or Office Coordinator when supply level is approaching reorder point
- Copies patient records if requested by insurance company or other physician offices
- Labels and uploads documents in EPIC and prints for doctor review when necessary
- Efficiently schedules appointments documenting appointment notes and following practice policy
- Completes daily receipts journals and deposits to cashiers
- Proofreads emails and encrypts confidential information before sending to patients
