Job Requirements
- High school graduate
- minimum 1 year experience in service management or related customer service role
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work independently
- ability to work flexible hours including customer-oriented scheduling
- physical ability to stand or walk approximately 95 percent of the workday
- capacity to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs
- tolerance of exposure to weather elements and minor odors
- competency in operating necessary job equipment
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate
- typically requires 1 year of experience in service management as a concierge or greeter in a large public facility
- excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- ability to problem solve and work independent of direct supervision
- demonstrated ability to work a flexible, customer-oriented schedule that meets the needs of Aurora guests and visitors
- knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span
- ability to assess data reflective of patient status and interpret appropriate information for age-specific care needs
Job Duties
- Greets customers and assesses their immediate needs
- successfully manages the first impression of the facility
- offers assistance in any way necessary including help out of vehicles, locating wheelchairs, providing directions, and escorting to destinations
- passes customers to volunteers for escorts when possible
- utilizes admitting or other departments to verify destination and remains with patients if they are alone or in a wheelchair
- assists in maintaining smooth traffic flow at facility entrances
- arranges parking needs for customers including valet service, tour buses, and short-term visitors
- assists customers with transportation needs such as taxi vouchers, bus passes, van transport, or other special needs
- ensures working area is clean, safe, and free from obstacles
- reports any security or safety issues to Public Safety Services immediately
- collaborates with hospital support staff including public safety, environmental services, plant operations, patient transport, and grounds
- demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care according to the age of patients served
