Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Capacity to make independent decisions and remain calm in emergencies
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with diverse groups
  • Basic knowledge of administrative practices
  • Experience with Microsoft computer software
  • Patience and enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to continuously walk and stand
  • Capability to work both inside and outside environments
  • Ability to sit infrequently
  • Ability to lift, carry, and push 0-25 pounds constantly
  • Ability to climb stairs frequently with option to use elevator
  • Ability to bend, squat, twist or rotate with occasional manipulation of weights up to 25 pounds
  • Frequent reaching ability including occasional overhead reach
  • Good vision with or without corrective lenses
  • Ability to hear phones, alarms, bells with or without hearing aid
  • Strong command of English for reading, writing, and interpreting administrative information

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Able to read, write, and understand the English language, and be able to follow written or oral instructions
  • Able to make independent decisions when the circumstances warrant such action and to remain calm during emergency situations
  • Able to deal professionally with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
  • Knowledgeable of administrative practices, processes, and guidelines
  • Experience using computer software (Microsoft)
  • Have patience, professionalism, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, and be willing to handle residents, staff and visitors based on their current maturity level

Job Duties

  • Greet visitors seeking information about the property
  • Be responsive to the needs of people who inquire about the property and/or who are in the building for meetings with administrative personnel
  • Direct visitors to appropriate office or resident apartment
  • Assist residents, family members, and guests with general requests
  • Arrange for tours of the property for individuals making spontaneous visits or those that have made an appointment for the tour
  • Answer telephones, record and channel information
  • Display knowledge of the services and programs and other pertinent information regarding the property
  • Handle the mail meter, stamps, making copies, and other tasks related to office operations
  • Process incoming mail, sort property mail and distribute mail to mailboxes
  • Maintain reception area in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Ensure that reception desk and lobby has current property literature on display
  • Ensure that lobby is free of excessive or outdated literature
  • Ensure that coffee and/or refreshments are fresh and readily available
  • Perform clerical duties for property staff as directed by supervisor
  • Provide assistance in the dining room serving resident meals as requested
  • Support the Community's marketing efforts through positive/friendly interaction during property tours and telephone contact with the public
  • Communicate any observed or suspected resident change of condition to a supervisory immediately
  • Maintain a safe work environment for all staff, residents and guests, following established safety standards
  • Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments
  • Support a positive and professional image through actions and dress
  • Perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned
