Job Requirements

  • High school graduate
  • Minimum 1 year experience in service management in a large public facility
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work flexible customer-oriented schedules
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, or run throughout work area approximately 95 percent of the workday
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift approximately 50 lbs
  • Willingness to withstand exposure to weather elements and automobile emissions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in service management as a concierge or greeter in a large public facility
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexible customer-oriented schedules

Job Duties

  • Greets customers and assesses their immediate needs
  • Successfully manages the first impression of the facility
  • Offers assistance including helping out of vehicle, locating wheelchairs, providing directions, escorting to destination
  • Passes customers to volunteers for escorts when possible
  • Utilizes admitting or other departments to verify destination and remains with patient if alone or in wheelchair
  • Assists in maintaining smooth traffic flow at entrances
  • Arranges parking services such as valet, tour buses, short-term visitor parking
  • Assists customers with transportation needs including taxi vouchers, bus passes, van transport
  • Maintains clean, safe, and obstacle-free work area
  • Reports security and safety issues to Public Safety Services
  • Collaborates with hospital support staff including Public Safety, Environmental Services, Plant Operations, Patient Transport and Grounds
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care as per departmental policies
