Job Requirements

  • High school graduate
  • Minimum 1 year experience in concierge or service management in a large public facility
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including early mornings
  • Ability to stand, walk, or run approximately 95% of the workday
  • Ability to withstand exposure to weather elements
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to auto emissions odors
  • Must operate all necessary equipment to perform job duties

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in service management as a concierge or greeter in a large public facility
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to problem solve independently
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets customer needs
  • Knowledge of principles of growth and development over lifespan
  • Ability to assess patient status and provide age-specific care

Job Duties

  • Greets customers and assesses their immediate needs
  • Successfully manages the first impression of the facility
  • Offers assistance including helping out of vehicles, locating wheelchairs, providing directions, and escorting to destinations
  • Passes customers to volunteers for escorts when possible
  • Utilizes admitting or other departments to verify destination and remains with patients if alone or in a wheelchair
  • Assists in maintaining smooth traffic flow at facility entrances
  • Arranges parking needs including valet service, tour buses, and short-term visitors
  • Assists customers with transportation needs such as taxi vouchers, bus passes, or van transport
  • Ensures working area is clean, safe, and free from obstacles
  • Reports security and safety issues immediately to Public Safety Services
  • Collaborates with hospital support staff including Public Safety, Environmental Services, Plant Operations, Patient Transport, and Grounds
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills needed to provide age-appropriate care as per department policies and procedures
