Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hospitality or guest services preferred
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Ability to handle guest complaints tactfully
  • Commitment to upholding brand standards
  • Ability to use Microsoft Windows applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be punctual and adhere to grooming standards
  • Must be physically able to perform duties including occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling and climbing stairs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent work organization and problem solving skills
  • Positive, outgoing and professional attitude with a passion for service
  • Previous leadership experience in guest relations preferred
  • Previous PMS experience required
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Windows applications required
  • University/College degree in a related discipline an asset
  • Must possess professional presentation
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with team members
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs and remain calm and courteous

Job Duties

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Handle guest concerns and react quickly, logging and notifying proper areas/departments
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Engineering
  • Respond to all emails and guest communications in a timely and professional manner
  • Monitor and respond to guest Kipsu messages within the Forbes standard time frame
  • Properly log and detail all guest bookings and provide printed itineraries
  • Complete billing procedures daily to ensure revenue posting for third party vendors
  • Demonstrate the Fairmont Brand Standards by actively engaging guests
  • Foster respectful and professional relationships with third party vendors
  • Never refuse guest requests unless illegal, immoral, or unsafe, always offer alternatives
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of hotel offerings and San Diego area attractions
  • Anticipate guest needs and provide thoughtful suggestions
  • Uphold Fairmont's Value Statement of respect, integrity, teamwork, and empowerment
  • Adhere to grooming standards and punctuality
  • Follow all Forbes standards when interacting with guests
  • Exhibit outstanding guest service skills and professionalism
  • Ensure the working environment is free of safety hazards
  • Report all suspicious activities to Security
  • Promote guest safety and security
  • Attend all required trainings and meetings
  • Support environmental initiatives
