Job Requirements

  • Must be able to see computer screens, data reports, and documents
  • Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with coworkers and guests
  • Requires walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods
  • Must have free movement of hands for typing and lifting
  • Must be able to lift 20 plus pounds infrequently
  • Must be able to work in an office setting
  • May assist guests outside the hotel but not off hotel property
  • Must possess knowledge of hotel policies and procedures
  • Must be able to communicate positively with guests and coworkers
  • Must be able to work with Microsoft Excel, Word, hotel property management systems, and concierge software
  • Must effectively handle customers requiring patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • Must know Metro-Detroit area and local attractions
  • Must professionally represent the hotel
  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • One year hospitality experience or equivalent

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • One year of hospitality industry experience or equivalent
  • Knowledge of hotel business policies, procedures, and services
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with hotel property management systems and concierge software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to professionally represent the hotel
  • Knowledge of local attractions, sporting events, dining, and shopping options
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external customers
  • Patience, tact, and diplomacy in handling guest interactions

Job Duties

  • Provide guest services with deep knowledge of local businesses and contacts
  • Make restaurant reservations and recommend local attractions
  • Arrange travel, transportation, spa visits, and special event tickets
  • Acknowledge all guest requests and ensure best possible execution
  • Greet guests warmly and serve as lobby ambassador
  • Answer guest inquiries about local area, events, and attractions
  • Handle guest requests including transportation, shows, golf tee times, flowers, and special occasions
  • Deliver exceptional assistance and coordinate with hotel departments for VIP guest preferences
  • Support department and management to enhance guest experience
  • Coordinate administrative tasks such as handling gift bags, logging inbound mail and packages, and updating VIP reports
