Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in concierge or customer service role preferably in a large public facility
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to problem solve independently
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts on a part-time basis
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, or run for up to 95 percent of the workday
  • Ability to lift or move approximately 50 pounds
  • Tolerance to weather exposure and minimal odors from auto emissions
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse population

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in service management as a concierge or greeter in a large public facility
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to problem solve and work independent of direct supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to work a flexible, customer-oriented schedule that meets the needs of Aurora guests and visitors

Job Duties

  • Greets customers and assesses their immediate needs
  • Successfully manages the first impression of the facility
  • Offers assistance in any way necessary including assisting out of their vehicle, locating wheelchair, providing directions, escorting to destination
  • Passes customer to volunteers for escorts when possible
  • Utilizes Admitting or other departments to verify destination and remains with the patient if they are alone or in a wheelchair
  • Assists in maintaining a smooth traffic flow at the entrances to the facility
  • Assists in the arrangement of parking needs of customers including valet service, tour buses, short-term visitors, and transportation needs such as taxi vouchers, bus passes, and van transport
  • Assures working area is clean of debris, safe, and free from obstacles
  • Reports any security or safety issues to the Public Safety Services Department immediately
  • Works with hospital support staff including Public Safety, Environmental Services, Plant Operations, Patient Transport, and Grounds
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to patients
