Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • able to read, write, and understand the English language and follow written or oral instructions
  • able to make independent decisions and remain calm during emergency situations
  • able to deal professionally with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public
  • knowledgeable of administrative practices, processes, and guidelines
  • experience using computer software such as Microsoft Office
  • patient, professional, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm
  • willing to handle residents, staff and visitors at varying maturity levels
  • must be able to continuously walk and stand
  • must be able to perform work both inside and outside
  • able to sit infrequently
  • able to lift, carry, and push constantly 0-25 pounds
  • able to climb stairs frequently with elevator as alternative if available
  • able to bend, squat frequently, twist or rotate occasionally
  • able to reach frequently with occasional overhead reaching
  • must have vision sufficient to read clearly with or without corrective lenses
  • able to hear telephone, alarms, bells, and safety signals with or without devices
  • strong command of English for reading, writing and interpreting administrative information

Job Duties

  • Greet visitors seeking information about the property
  • be responsive to the needs of people who inquire about the property and/or who are in the building for meetings with administrative personnel
  • direct visitors to appropriate office or resident apartment
  • assist residents, family members, and guests with general requests
  • arrange tours of the property for individuals making spontaneous visits or those who have appointments for tours
  • answer telephones, record and channel information
  • display knowledge of the services and programs and other pertinent information regarding the property
  • manage mail meter, stamps, make copies, and perform other office-related tasks
  • process and distribute incoming mail to mailboxes
  • maintain reception area in neat and orderly fashion with up-to-date literature and refreshments
  • perform clerical duties for property staff as directed
  • provide assistance in the dining room serving resident meals as requested
  • support marketing efforts through positive interactions during tours and telephone contact
  • communicate any observed or suspected resident changes to supervision immediately
  • maintain a safe work environment following established safety standards
  • encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments
  • support a positive and professional image through actions and dress
  • perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned
