Job Requirements

  • Experience in customer service
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Basic computer skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Prior experience in hospital environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Check on details to create pleasant environment for visitors and patients such as piano playing
  • Direct volunteers to meet needs of customers
  • Apply technical skills and knowledge in a focused, in depth specialty area
  • Actively care for presentation of lobby areas
  • keep areas neat and tidy
  • initiate response from support departments to keep areas clean
  • Exhibit positive interpersonal skills including professionalism, integrity, follow-up on commitments, respecting viewpoints of others and supporting change
  • Perform duties of concierge desk to meet needs of patients, family members, visitors and employees
  • Proactively greet each patient/customer as they enter, determine reason for visit, anticipate and respond to customer needs while presenting a positive hospital image
  • Prioritize and expedite patients to appropriate areas for treatment
  • Communicate using active listening, appropriate nonverbal communication, oral and written skills
  • Demonstrate problem-solving through process analysis, communication and innovative thinking
  • Demonstrate teamwork by interacting with others to achieve goals, sharing credit and accountability, and encouraging participation in work activities
  • Promote patient safety
  • Demonstrate and maintain knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care to all ages, including principles of growth and development, and assess and interpret age-specific customer needs
