Job Description

Three Pillars Catering and Concessions is a distinguished department within the University at Buffalo's Campus Dining and Shops, dedicated to providing exceptional food service experiences across the campus and at various university events. As a part-time, casual employment opportunity, the Concessions Employee role supports the dynamic and fast-paced environment of catering and concessions at athletic events, special campus ceremonies such as commencement, and other university gatherings. Job Requirements

  • Valid NYS driver’s license with clean, safe driving record
  • Ability to drive a car/people van for transporting staff and items
  • Open availability including days, evenings, weekends
  • Willingness to do prep and cleanup duties
  • Ability to work well with team
  • Good eye contact and people skills
  • Punctuality and consistent attendance
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and management
  • Must have dependable transportation
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Must work catering, concessions, and special events including home football and basketball games and commencement
  • Must obtain PCI certification through Campus Dining and Shops before working events
  • Must have professional appearance, demeanor, and hygiene
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk for minimum eight hours

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food service or catering preferred
  • Ability to obtain PCI certification through Campus Dining and Shops
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in team environments
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to follow safety and food handling regulations
  • Dependable and punctual

Job Duties

  • Ensure exemplary guest service through all forms of banquet service including carving stations, bartending, running food during events, buffets, plated meals, replenishing product and supplies in compliance with event standards
  • Communicate daily with the Concessions Lead to ensure events are executed properly from planning, setup, event execution, to breakdown
  • Ensure compliance with ServSafe and New York State Department of Health regulations for HACCP and food safety
  • Transport, pull, set up, break down, and return equipment to designated storage areas in compliance with event standards and instructions
  • Support concession stands at all university home football and basketball games
  • Perform side work by maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Clean, organize, and restock equipment and product returning from catering events
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service at all times
  • Perform general cleaning and other food service duties as requested by management
  • Service at Presidential events and President Residence as assigned
